Stings a little bit, no?

What am I talking about?

It's something I hear every day from CRE Professionals. "Mo, I freaking create this content. It's good. I'm sharing my struggles, my wins, my journey...and I'm getting nothing from it. What gives?"

Most people don't get the balance right between personal storytelling and professional relevance, especially here on LinkedIn.

They either:
→ Overshare without a point
→ Stay too surface level

BUT when you connect the personal and professional? :::Chefs kiss::: That's when the real magic happens.

Try this:
1️⃣ Start with your personal moment - a struggle, a realization, an "ah-a!" moment
2️⃣ Tie it into your niche - What does it teach? How did it make you stop? How does it apply?
3️⃣ End by asking a question or revealing your takeaway - This makes it easier to engage

StoryBrand tells us that we HAVE TO STOP WASTING brain cells to make our point. I'll expand on this in another post because it got me thinking about LinkedIn Bios and Headlines...and that's a whole other story!

If you're making your audience THINK too hard to get what you're saying then you've lost them.

When you tell stories that people actually care about, they will respond.

Hope this helps someone today.

Deuces,
Mo
