Tired of fighting algorithms that change more often than a toddler’s mood.

Tired of “trending audios,” “perfect captions,” and “hot takes” that lead nowhere.

Tired of being a strategist, a content machine, an algorithm chaser… sometimes all before 10AM.

There are days I fantasize about throwing my phone in a lake and becoming a mushroom forager. But then I find myself doom-scrolling my own FYP on IG. X. TikTok. And back again like I’m chasing something.

Spoiler alert: I’m not. It’s just burnout wearing a filter

Here’s the thing no one tells you:
Social media burnout isn’t a glitch in the system. It is the system.

A recent study published in Business Insider shows heavy social media users are literally more irritable. Not metaphorically. Not “ugh Mondays.” Irritable. As in, your screen might be the reason you're snapping at Karen in accounting.

And according to Samba Recovery, "About 10% of Americans are straight-up addicted to social media." That's over 33 million people stuck in the loop. You're not alone...you're just logged in too long.

So what do you do when you're drowning in the digital noise?

You stop. You reclaim. You detox like a damn boss.

Here’s what that looks like in the real world (not the highlight reel):

→ Turn off your damn notifications. If it’s important, they’ll call. If not, it can wait.
→ Schedule your scrolling. You calendar Zooms and workouts. Add "mindless scroll at 7:42PM" to the mix if you must.
→ Mute the noise. If an account makes you feel like garbage—even if it’s your competitor—mute it. Protect your peace like it’s part of your brand (because it is).
→ Take weekends off. Radical idea: you don’t need to be "on" 24/7 to be successful. Your audience will survive without your brunch post.
→ Audit your “why.” Are you posting to build connection, or because the algorithm is holding your business hostage?

Let me be blunt:
If your business only survives when you’re burnt out—
It’s not sustainable. It’s Stockholm Syndrome.

Let that sink in.

Burnout isn’t a badge of hustle. It’s a warning light. Pay attention to it.

And if you need me, I'll be huddled on the couch this weekend reading a book and sipping coffee.

What about you? Do you need a digital detox?

Deuces,
Mo
